PetroPhaseN is a Windows-based, state-of-the-art PVT phase package. Using a generalized three-parameter equation of state (EOS), PetroPhaseN can simulate laboratory experiments, characterize hydrocarbon components, match PVT data, investigate miscibility, facilitate the optimization of separator trains and prepare PVT input data for black oil and compositional simulators.
PetroPhaseN provides a simple and efficient user interface to input, validate and save data. Its robust calculation engine provides reliable simulation, characterization and regression results. PetroPhaseN also exports to Excel to streamline reporting and analysis.
EOS Data Input
PetroPhaseN’s EOS data input function allows you to input data in different units and utilize Peng-Robinson or SRK EOS options. PetroPhaseN gives the user the ability to access component properties from database, characterization analysis, or user input. It can determine binary interaction parameters from a database, user input or different correlations. Also, you can select volume shift parameters for PR or SRK EOS automatically and combine data from multiple feed compositions. With PetroPhaseN you can use user-specified reference conditions and import EOS models from industry standard simulators.
PetroPhaseN’s characterization functionality allows you to use different distribution models (modified Whitson’s method as default) and has an automatic initial characterization option. PetrophaseN can extend fluid analysis interactively using different procedures, select pseudo-component groups and different lumping schemes automatically, and calculate component properties with different correlations.
PVT Experiment Simulation
PetroPhaseN’s PVT Experiment Simulation offers an unlimited number of experiments, constant compostion exapansion (CCE), constant volume depletion (CVD), differential liberation expansion (DLE) and saturation pressure (SAT). It can provide the minimum miscibility pressure or enrichment (MMP/MME) for different drive mechanisms; as well as, the swelling test (SWE), multi-stage separator test (SEP), multi-contact test (MCT). The PVT experiment simulation displays the wax precipitation, asphaltene precipitation, vapor-liquid two-phase flash (VLE) and multi-phase flash compositional grading.
PetroPhaseN’s EOS tuning allows the user to display active/inactive experiments visually and specify regression parameters and weights. This function gives you the ability to audit, edit and return to prior regressions conveniently. Also with EOS tuning you can report parameter sensitivities to assist the selection of the most important regression parameters.
PetroPhaseN can generate Excel-compatible graphics and tables and output text files that include match error. This software allows you to export EOS information to compositional simulators and produce pseudo-ternary diagrams, finger plots and phase envelope illustrations.
